Leather patch beanies
Battle Born Clothing has laser-engraved leather patches since 2020 on an OMTech 80-watt CO2 laser. We aim to be the top leather patch hat maker in the USA, and beanies are a growing share of that work.

Add the blank. On a Sportsman SP12 ($5.60) that is $12.60 all-in at 48 and $10.60 at 144. There is no setup fee for patches.
How the patch is made
- We take your vector logo and set it in the patch shape (rectangle, rounded rectangle, circle, oval, shield, or a custom outline).
- The laser engraves the logo into the leather and cuts the patch to shape.
- We attach the patch to the cuff with our own heat process on a two-platen VEVOR hat press. Sewn-on is available for $4–6 more per beanie.
Patch size on a cuff
Most beanie patches are 2.5 to 3 inches wide and 1.5 to 2 inches tall. Bigger than that and the patch stiffens the cuff. Fine lines, small text and detailed marks engrave cleanly, which is why patches suit logos that embroidery would have to simplify.
Leather colors
Natural (light tan), medium brown, dark brown and black are the standard choices. Engraving burns darker on light leather and lighter on dark leather, so a logo on natural leather reads dark-on-light and on black leather reads light-on-dark. We show both on the proof if you are undecided.
Glued or sewn
Glued is clean-edged and holds through normal wear and hand washing. Sewn adds a visible stitch line and $4–6 per beanie; some brands prefer the look. Either way the engraving is permanent.

Do leather patches stay on a knit beanie?
Yes. Our heat process bonds the patch to the cuff, and we sample-press on your chosen color before a run. Sewn-on is available if you prefer stitches.
Is there a setup fee for patches?
No. Your engraving file is kept for reorders.
Can the patch be a custom shape?
Yes. Any closed outline that fits the cuff. Send it as a vector and we cut it.
